Amul has come up with a unique concept of selling milk – “Any Time Milk” – a vending machine for selling its products.
The first machine for selling milk through ATM like machines, has been installed in the Anand town of Gujarat. This machine present at the gate of the Amul diary is expected to become a big hit with milk lovers.
The cost of 300 ml of Amul’s milk in this machine is 10 rupees. So to get a pouch of milk, one has to place a ten rupee note which will be scanned by the sensor and then the milk pouch gets dispatched from the machine.
This ATM has a capacity to hold 150 packets of milk in it. It also has a refrigerator built into it, to keep the milk fresh.
Will install 1000 ATMs
Amul is planning to install a thousand of such machines in the nearby villages. “To start with, we plan to set up these ATMs at each of the 1,100 ‘mandalis’ in Kheda and Anand districts where we market Amul, Ramsinh Parmar, Chairman, Kheda District Milk Producers’ Union told the Hindu Business Line.
