Telecom giant Samsung has unveiled the much awaited Galaxy S IV, which would rival the iPhone 5 and other competitors in the smartphone segment.
The newest offering in the Galaxy series by Samsung, this smartphone is feature rich with the latest from the Android space as well.
5″ Super sharp Screen
The Galaxy S IV boasts of a very sharp 5″ Super AMOLED display, having a 1080p resolution and 440 pixels-per-inch. The Galaxy S III, its predecessor, had a 4.8-inch display, 720p resolution, and 306 PPI. With these high end screen features, the screen in the Galaxy S4 definitely appears brighter and significantly sharper.
8 Core Processor
The smartphone also features a whopping 8-core Samsung Exynos processor along with 2GB of RAM. The phone runs the latest Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean.
Significant Battery Life
The Galaxy S4 comes with a battery of 2,700 mAh rating which is significantly larger than the Galaxy S III’s 2,100 battery.
Tons of new features
With a new feature called the AirView, the phone allows you to simply hover your finger over an item on the screen for more information, like previewing an email or photo.
Along with this one can also wave the hand in front of the screen to control some of the apps, which could be a particularly important feature while driving, or if you need to do something as simple as switch to a new tab in a web browser.
Using the phone, one can also track the number of steps in the stairs that you have climbed with the built in pedometer. Humidity and Temperature sensors have also been inbuilt to the phone.
Cost of the Samsung Galaxy S IV
The S IV is expected to be costing around 600 USD. Many consider this to be expensive, however compared to the iPhone 5, costing around $650, the Galaxy S IV is still cheaper with loads of features. HTC One from HTC is also expected to be a big competitor in this segment of smartphones.
