It looks like as if the Central government is not happy with the Maharashtra government extending the parole of Sanjay Dutt for three consecutive terms.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has reportedly written a letter to the Maharashtra government seeking explanation on why the actor has been given special privilege of getting 3 paroles in his 9 month serving in the prison.
Actor Sanjay Dutt is serving in the prison for a six year term in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
Dutt had been granted parole in December 21, reportedly on the grounds that his wife Manyata was not keeping well. With this he was expected to return to the jail on February 21. However his parole has been subsequently extended by the Maharashtra government.
The Bombay High court is also likely to take up the matter of parole extension today. Allegations are also there that alcohol was being served to Mr. Dutt while he was staying in the Yerawada prison of Pune.
