India vs Pak – Stunning victory for India in T20 worldcup

The Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was on set on fire by stunning performance from the Indian team on Sunday. India and Pakistan – the arch rivals battled out in a nail biting T20 world cup match, with India emerging victorious finally.

Balaji – the star bowler

The Indian bowlers were successful to restrict the Pakistani batsmen with a score of 128. Pakistan was all out within 19.4 overs, as L Balaji dismissed Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal in consecutive deliveries. Balaji gave a stunning performance by taking 3 wickets in all with 22 runs in 3.4 overs.

Pakistan lost too quickly four of its batsmen – Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Nasir Jamshed and Kamran Akmal within the 50 runs mark.

Ashwin and Yuvaraj Singh bowled splendid overs who could manage to secure 2 wickets each.

Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal played the crucial innings for Pakistan, adding 47 runs for the sixth wicket. Ashwin helped the Indian team to remove Malik out of the pitch, and soon after this he claimed his second wicket in the form of Umar Akmal after the right-hander was brilliantly caught deep in the field by Suresh Raina.

India Pak T20

Virat Kohli took the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez. Ace bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji came to India’s rescue again by consuming the crucial wicket of Shahid Afridi.

Brilliant Indian innings

The Indian batsmen set the pitch on fire, after the early dismissal of Gambhir. Sehwag scored 29 runs, before surrendering his wicket to Shahid Afridi.

It was Virat Kohli, who managed to drag India to the victory end. Kohli stayed on till the end, and emerged not out by scoring 78 runs. Yuvraj Singh gave him an able partnership, by scoring 19 runs not out.
