MH17 Malaysian Airlines has been shot dead near Ukraine leading to the plane crash in which 295 people have been reported dead. Both Ukrainian leaders and separatist leaders and pro Russian forces have denied shooting the airplane.
MH17 – A Boeing 777 aircraft was flying to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam with reportedly 280 passengers and 15 crew members. With the intensity of the crash being reported, it is unlikely that any of the passengers would have survived.
Malaysia has announced that it had indeed lost any contact from the flight, and the last they heard was from the Ukrainian air space.
Mr. Anton Gerashenko, one of the advisers to the Ukrainian Government’s interior ministry, has been reported to being said on his social networking page that the ill-fated plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters (33,000 feet). He has also said that it was hit by a missile fired from a Buk launcher, which is having a capacity of firing missiles that can reach up to an altitude of 22,000 meters (72,000 feet).
Ukraine has constantly been alleging that Russia is taking active steps in continuing the conflict which had recently peaked out with the Crimean tensions spreading over the world. Ukraine had earlier alleged that Russia had taken down a fighter jet plane – a Sukhoi Su-25 on Thursday. However Russia has clearly denied it.
The Associated Press reports that the Donetsk region government of Ukraine has said that the plane crash has occurred near a village called Grabovo, which it said is currently under the control of armed pro-Russian separatists. Donetsk has declared independence from Ukraine a few days before, with separatists operating in the region.
