Choppy trades continue in Nifty. Tata Motors loses 2.3%

Choppy markets
Markets are witnessing choppy trades, following the sudden cut seen in yesterday’s trade. Stocks from Banking, Financials, Capital goods and real estate sectors have seen cuts extended.

The CNX Nifty is at 6207, down by 13 points or -0.22%. The Sensex has seen a cut of 80 points at 20809.

Tata Motors is the top losing stock on the Nifty index. The stock is down by 2.4% and is trading at 364.35.

BHEL has continued its fall from yesterday’s cuts. The stock is down by 1.7% in today’s trade also. L&T is also down by over 1% in today’s trade. M&M, Tata Power and Grasim have all seen cuts of over 1%.

Banks continue to show weakness. ICICI Bank is down by 1%, while AxisBank has shown a cut of 0.8%. Yesterday’s big loser PNB is marginally up in today’s trade. Midcap banking stocks have also seen cuts. Canara Bank, Andhra Bank, Dena Bank – have all seen cuts.

Ranbaxy is however gaining over 1% to trade at 467.30. Maruti, IDFC , HDFC Bank and JP Associates have gained nearly 1% each.

The CNX Bank Nifty is down by 36 points, while the Midcap index is up by 10 points. The IT index is up by 45 points. All the IT majors HCL Tech, TCS and Infy – are showing trades in green.
