Quiet trade in markets. Bank Nifty corrects

Trades have been quiet on Tuesday, as stocks tend to correct from the rally witnessed for the past three consecutive sessions. However rally has continued in some select counters across the mainstream, midcap and small cap spaces.

The Nifty is trading nearly flat at 6210, down by 7 points. The BSE Sensex is down by 3 points at 20894.

The Bank Nifty has seen a correction of over 33 points. Axis Bank has seen a cut of 0.7%. ICICI Bank has seen a mild correction of 0.3% and is trading at 1086.

Banks from the midcap space have also seen some action. Canara Bank has lost over 1.4% at 244.50, while Dena Bank is up by 56.20. Bank of India has also lost over 2%.

TCS has been the main gainer on the index. The IT giant stock has moved up by over 1.1% to trade at 2037.
Infy has also gained 0.3%. However HCL Tech has lost nearly 1% at 1120.

Other major gainers on the index are LT – up by 0.7%, Maruti – up by 0.8%, Tata Steel – up by 0.5% and BHEL – up by nearly a percent.
