Sensex bleeds with 450 points cut. HDFC loses 3.5%

Markets have been witnessing sell off trades with major stocks on the Nifty index seeing selling pressure. The indices remained subdued from the beginning of the trade.

The NSE Nifty is down by 137 points at 8296, while the BSE Sensex is down by 450 points at 27397.

HDFC is among the top loser on the Nifty Index. The stock has lost nearly Rs. 43 or 3.4% in today’s trade. Indus Ind Bank is also down by 3.2%. Other stocks which have all seen declines of nearly 3% include ITC, Hero Motocorp., Bank of Baroda and State Bank of India.

Asian Paints, Ultratech Cements, Hindalco, Axis Bank, Cipla, Ambuja Cements – have all lost 2.5% each.

Reliance Industries is however trading with some amount of support. The stock is trading flat. Lupin has gained 1.5%, while Zee Limited is up by 2.9% in today’s trade.
