The Sensex and the Nifty are struggling to hold on to the levels and are seeing draggings towards the lower side. Profit booking has been continuing in some of the counters resulting in the indices moving sideways.
The Sensex has moved up by 57 points at 20908. The NSE Nifty is also up by 14 points at 6214.
Some of the pharmaceutical companies are trading high in today’s trade. Dr. Reddy’s is up by 1.3% at 2809. Sun Pharma has seen a rise of 1.2% at 626. Lupin is up to 960, with a gain of 0.7%. Ranbaxy is up by 0.4%.
Kotak Bank, from the private banking space has moved up smartly on the index with a gain of 1.3%. The stock is currently quoting at 684.
BHEL is another gainer on the index with 1% gains.
Metals and minerals continue to slide down. SSLT has lost a further 2.3% in today’s trade to quote at 175.40. NMDC is down by 2%. Coal India has continued its slide, with a cut of 1.6% today also. Tata steel has also lost 1% to trade at 357.
The CNX Nifty Junior index is up by 29 points. Stocks that are flaring are Idea Cellular, up by 1%, and Divis Lab which is also up by a percent.
